GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) Packers’ receiver Greg Jennings will test his running ability on Thursday – and if it’s good, he’ll practice on Friday, in preparation for Sunday’s home contest against Jacksonville. Jennings injured a groin on September ninth against San Francisco. And Coach Mike McCarthy said he might have practiced too much before aggravating the groin on September 30th against New Orleans.

This time, the coaches are being more cautious. McCarthy said fatigue was a concern during his first rehab – and a heavy practice schedule was quote, “not in his best interest” before his second injury. It’s not known how Jennings would be incorporated into the Packer offense if he plays against the Jaguars. But McCarthy says it should not be too much of a problem, as quarterback Aaron Rodgers always throws to whoever’s open.

Meanwhile, the Jaguars will be without their star running back Maurice Jones-Drew for the Packer game – and possibly beyond. Jones-Drew hurt his left foot in the Jags’ overtime loss to Oakland last Sunday. Team doctors say it’s possible that he has a more severe Lisfranc injury.
