MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) -  A store manager is charged with stealing 1.3 million dollars from her employer. 42-year-old Bonnie Hartle of Auburndale is accused of taking the money over a period of ten years while managing a Weiler Convenience Store in Marshfield. Hartle has 25 charges for theft in a business setting greater than 10 thousand dollars.

The investigation started last December. Marshfield police say it wasn’t easy to trace, but they figure Hartle was pocketing about 1,000 dollars a week while managing the store.

The Weiler family has been friends with Hartle for years, so they were surprised to discover where the missing money was going.

Hartle will make an initial appearance in Wood County Court at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon.
