MERRILL, WI (WSAU) - A school bus driver accused of sending sexually explicit photos and text messages to an 11-year-old boy was back in court Monday. 52-year-old Bobb Bergman of Gleason faces charges of e-mailing photos and sending inappropriate text messages to a child on his bus route this past March and April.
Bergman’s attorney moved to allow a charge of exposing a child to harmful material and drop charges of causing mental harm, stalking, and causing a child to view a sex act, but that motion was denied.
The victim told investigators Bergman never touched him, but did make him uncomfortable.
Bergman faces up to 32 years in prison and $35,000 in fines if convicted of all charges.
A preliminary hearing will be September 27 in Lincoln County court. Bergman remains free on a $1,500 cash bond.
