MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - More than $1 million was spent on TV ads for the State Supreme Court race won by Justice Pat Roggensack.
The Brennan Center for Justice and the group Justice at Stake released the spending total Thursday.
They said a media research firm came up with the numbers – and about 70 percent of the money was spent by conservative special interest groups on Roggensack’s behalf.
She defeated challenger Ed Fallone by 14 percentage points on Tuesday.
The Brennan Center and the justice group said Roggensack benefited from $770,000 in ads from outside interests – and her campaign spent another $155,000 on TV. Fallone spent $190,000 on television ads, and no outside groups helped him.
