STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) - One of Wisconsin’s longest serving coaches has died. 75-year-old Robert Raczek started his coaching career at Plainfield Tri-County schools in the 1960’s, but then taught and coached several sports at Stevens Point Pacelli High School. He won 360 games and ranks second on the state’s all-time football coach’s wins list. His coaching resume includes a state championship in 2005.

Raczek coached up until his death Sunday. He had been battling prostate cancer.

He is survived by his wife Patricia, a daughter, three sons and several grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday August 3, 2013 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Pacelli Student Activity Center, also known as the Lower Gymnasium, and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at St. Peter Church on Saturday morning. Burial will take place in the St. Francis Xavier cemetery in the Town of Knowlton, not far from his home. Coach Raczek’s wishes are for all attending the visitation or funeral to wear Pacelli red & white attire.

Pisarski Funeral Home is handling his arrangements.
