MOSINEE, WI (WSAU) - A busy highway bridge is going to be closed much of this week.
The Highway 34 overpass crossing I-39 south of Mosinee has allowed one lane of northbound traffic during this spring’s deck replacement. Now, highway workers are at a point where they need to close the bridge to finish pouring concrete.
The bridge will close at 6:00 a.m. Monday, June 3rd and reopen to traffic at 6:00 a.m. Thursday June 6th.
Motorists on Highway 34 northbound heading for Interstate I-39 will be detoured to Highway DB to enter the freeway at exit 171. All of the highway 34 interchange ramps will remain open, which means motorists leaving southbound I-39 exiting onto southbound Highway 34 will not be impacted by this closure.
Motorists coming from the Junction City area towards Mosinee and Wausau may choose to stay on Highway 10 and access I-39 just north of Stevens Point instead of using the detour.
