WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) - The man accused of supplying the heroin that caused a fatal Wausau crash is still in jail, unable to post a 50-thousand dollar cash bond.
22-year-old Kyle Kennedy of Mosinee was arrested Wednesday by investigators from the Wausau Police Department with assistance from the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department Special Investigations Unit.
With surveillance video from a nearby convenience store, officers were able to trace Kennedy making a probable heroin deal with Michael Dixon minutes before Dixon crashed into the Thomas Street bridge.
Dixon was killed in the crash, and his 4-year-old son was critically injured.
Kennedy faces charges of delivery of heroin, 3 counts of obstructing or resisting an officer, and 4 counts of bail jumping. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 24th.
