MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - The Wisconsin Assembly’s minority leader says he’s not sure whether he’ll run for governor next year.

Democrat Peter Barca of Kenosha says he’s waiting to see how things shake out over the next few months – and with the state budget process almost finished, Barca says he’s been too busy to think about it.

Barca did praise former state Commerce Secretary Mary Burke. He calls her a “very appealing” candidate. Burke, daughter of Trek Bicycle’s founder, now serves on the Madison School Board.

It was disclosed yesterday that the state Democratic Party’s been doing polls on whether Burke would be a good challenger to Governor Scott Walker next year.

Barca also been mentioned in a number of circles as a possible challenger.
