STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- A Stevens Point business is planning their new world headquarters, but it will be a while before construction begins. Educational software developer Skyward purchased property in the Portage County Business Park a few months ago.
Skyward’s Cliff King says right now, they are in the early planning stages, so groundbreaking won’t happen this year. “We’re looking at twelve to eighteen months to break ground on that new facility. We’re looking forward to it. We’re so excited about what has happened for our organization, we can’t wait until we can actually break ground.”
King says the company is planning to put the staff of their two existing Stevens Point buildings into a single center, and design it to be efficient for their workflow and management style. “We picked a construction manager that we’re going to work with. That would be Miron (Construction) and now we’re looking for an architect to help us design the building.”
Once the new facility is completed, Skyward plans to sell their existing two buildings on Coy Drive and Patch Street in Stevens Point.
