CUSTER, Wis. (WSAU) - Investigators have released more details about Sunday’s fatal traffic crash on Highway 10 at Custer Sunday.
State Patrol investigators say a northbound Chevy Impala driven by 92-year-old Adeline T. Zaidel of Stevens Point failed to yield right of way to a westbound Chevy Cruize driven by 26-year-old Kelsey L. Kroll of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The crash happened at 10 and Highway K north.
Zaidel was airlifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, where she died. Her passenger, 85-year-old Rita A. Kozak of Stevens Point died at the scene. Kroll was taken to St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point with non life threatening injuries.
The crash happened at 1:50 p.m. It took over three-and-a-half hours to clear the crash scene.
