Second unattended child in two days is OK

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WSAU) -- A second young child has been found wandering alone this week. This time, an 18-month-old boy was located Friday morning in the Thousand Oaks Trailer Park in Wisconsin Rapids. The person who was supposed to be watching the toddler was interviewed by police, and they are recommending child neglect charges to the Wood County District Attorney.

Just a day before, a girl just shy of her third birthday was found barefoot in her pajamas wandering Marshfield’s South Central Avenue. Her father left her in the house, presumably sleeping, while he went out to get scrap metal from area dumpsters. He is also being charged with child neglect.

Both children are doing well. No names have been released.
