CURTISS, Wis (WSAU) The former village president and village clerk in Curtiss are facing criminal charges for allegedly altering the official minutes of a village board meeting to give themselves raises.
75-year-old Arlan Hamm and 65-year-old Deborah Krauter were charged yesterday in Clark County court with theft and felony misconduct in office. The criminal complaint says Hamm got more than $15,000 in unapproved funds dating back to 2011. Krauter's pay rate was raised by 25-cents an hour until she left office in 2013. They also arranged reimbursement for mileage that wasn't approved.
Both are now free on $2,500 signature bond.
Hamm has requested a new judge to hear the case.
