Tomorrow is Godsmack Day in the band's hometown of Boston. That directly from Beantown's Mayor Martin J. Walsh , who will present the band with the honor on Wednesday afternoon, just one day after Godsmack's new 1000hp hits stores.
The presentation will take place at longtime Boston indie record store Newbury Comics, which will open at 8 a.m. tomorrow. The first 500 fans to purchase a copy of the new album will receive a wristband to return later for a meet-and-greet with the band, which will take place right after the mayoral ceremony.
1000hp is Godsmack's sixth album, and their first studio release since 2010's The Oracle .
