BERLIN, Wis. (WSAU) -- The former Waupun police lieutenant turned fugitive was in court Monday. 44-year-old Bradley Young was in Green Lake County court, where his bond was set at $50,000. He was also bound over for trial on numerous burglary and auto theft charges.

Young was apprehended during a manhunt when he tried to hide by breaking into a Burnett County cabin in August. He still has several additional charges to face in Barron and Burnett Counties.

Authorities said he stole a pickup truck in Green Lake County, crashed it in Barron County during a police chase, stole another vehicle near Rice Lake, broke into to a cabin west of Spooner where he considered killing himself, and later gave up at the cabin when he realized that officers were surrounding him.
