MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) --What started as a Friday evening traffic stop in Merrill turned into an impaired driving and drug arrests.
33-year-old Nacole Degner of Merrill was pulled over when officers believed she was impaired. Officers found she was impaired by a drug, and a considerable amount of drugs and paraphernalia was located in the car. This included marijuana and methamphetamine. Officers found the drugs packaged in a manner consistent with distributing the substances.
Along with Degner, police arrested 31-year-old Steven Strom Jr. of Merrill. Strom owned the car, and was also found to have a loaded semi-automatic 25 caliber handgun, pepper spray, and two large rings officers believed are used as impact weapons similar to brass knuckles.
Degner and Strom were taken to the Lincoln County Jail, where they await a bond hearing on a total of ten combined felony charges.
