WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -- A sex offender is being released from prison in time for the new decade.

Zachery Martin will be released on Tuesday into transitional housing after a 10-year prison sentence. Martin was convicted in March of 2009 for one count of 2nd-degree sexual assault of a child.

Martin will be placed on supervision and will be monitored by Sex Offender Agent Specialists and GPS tracking. He will be on a highly restricted schedule of time out in the community that is limited to work and treatment.

Martin's supervision will expire on January 6th of 2033, 13 years later. His ongoing address and status will be updated on the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry.

It should be noted that Martin is not currently wanted by police for any crimes, as he has completed the terms of his sentence. Word of his release is being shared to help create a better-informed public and is not intended to increase fear.
