WESTON, WI (WSAU) -- The South Area Fire District is warning watersports enthusiasts to beware of currents on the Eau Claire River in Weston after two kayakers were pulled under on Sunday.

No one was seriously injured in the incident. Officials say it happened just west of Yellow Banks Park when the kayakers came up to some debris in the water.

SAFER crews were able to clear some debris from the scene, but say the incident is a reminder to always wear a life jacket and to take your boat out of the water to get around debris.
