Thursday marks the seventh anniversary of Lulu , Metallica 's much-maligned 2011 collaborative album with late music legend Lou Reed . Showing that they have a bit of a sense of humor about themselves, the metal legends marked the record's anniversary by poking fun at it.

"Everyone's favorite album Lulu was released #OnThisDay in 2011," Metallica tweeted . "Dare we ask what your favorite song on the album is?" The band also added a winking emoji.

Lulu was notoriously hated by fans -- the song "The View" was a particular target of ire, thanks to the part when James Hetfield growls the line "I am the table!," which naturally became a meme .

Critics weren't too kind to Lulu , either. Pitchfork 's scathing review gave the album a score of 1.0 out of 10, while critic Chuck Klosterman wrote in his review , "If the Red Hot Chili Peppers acoustically covered the 12 worst Primus songs for Starbucks, it would still be (slightly) better than [ Lulu ]."

Metallica is currently on tour, but you probably don't have to worry about them playing any Lulu songs: the band hasn't performed anything from the album live since 2011. The tour continues this Saturday with a hometown acoustic charity show in San Francisco.
