WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -- It's only a matter of days until President Donald Trump returns to Central Wisconsin on his MAGA tour.

And it's not just locals excited for the Presidents visit. RNC Press Secretary Cassie Smedile says that Central Wisconsin in a special place to President Trump. "I love that the President has chosen to come back to Wausau. I know it's a special place to him. The 7th District, Sean Duffy's district, was with President Trump the day he announced his candidacy. They've been some of his most ardent supporters and I'm sure he's really going to enjoy this trip."

She says a big part of the President's stop in Mosinee is to drum up support for US Senate Candidate Leah Vukmir. "To get that same enthusiasm and that same turnout that so many Wisconsinites showed for him for Leah Vukmir. Because we need her in the Senate, he needs her in the Senate." Smedile also mentions that Senator Tammy Baldwin is standing in the way of President Trump's good news. She says that having Vukmir in the Senate would get more work done along with Wisconsin's congressional delegation.

Smedile says the President's stop is also important so citizens can see and hear their President in person. "It means a lot to Americans, in general, to hear from your President, to see your President. Not just on TV, not just from Washington DC. But out in everyday America, talking with everyday Americans."

President Trump will be visiting the Wisconsin Central Airport in Mosinee on Wednesday at 6:30 pm. Governor Walker and U-S Senate Candidate Leah Vukmir will appear alongside the President at the rally. More information about reserving tickets for the event can be found at www.donaldjtrump.com
