UNDATED (Wisconsin Radio Network) - Congressman Ron Kind says he is pushing for an end to the Trump Administration's trade war before permanent damage is done to the economy.
Kind says he wants Congress to the Trump Administration's trade war with China, Mexico and the European Union by giving congress input on tariffs. He says a perfect example is Harley Davidson, which considering massive changes to their operations in order to deal with tariffs. "Harley Davidson is facing huge tariff barriers to sell their bikes in the European Union, and so they have to think about moving a product line over there to avoid the tariffs the president created himself," Kind said.
He says Wisconsin residents have paid $251-million in increased costs due to tariffs.
Kind is introducing legislation that would return trade authority to Congress. Currently the president has the power to impose tariffs unilaterally.
