If you thought Slipknot 's new single "All Out Life" was pretty heavy, then you best prepare yourself for the band's upcoming album.
Speaking to the Des Moines Register , frontman Corey Taylor says that "All Out Life," which the masked metallers dropped last Halloween, is not "nearly as dark and vicious as the rest of the stuff that we have that we're working on."
Taylor adds that the currently untitled album will be "evil" and "ridiculous," while also very personal. He wrote a lot of the lyrics while going through depression and divorce, during which he endeavored to stay sober.
"That's basically the journey I'm going to take people on this album," Taylor, a recovering addict, says. "Show them what happens to depression when you have no chemicals to fall back on."
"It's a pretty dark ride," he adds.
Slipknot's next album, the follow-up to 2014's .5: The Gray Chapter , is due out later this year.
