WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -- A Marathon County woman accused of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and manufacturing or distributing THC in connection with a shooting incident in downtown Wausau has entered a not guilty plea.
Julie Appleyard was in Marathon County court on Monday where she waived her preliminary hearing and entered the plea.
Police say Appleyard drove her 16-year-old son into downtown Wausau back in September to sell vape cartridges that contained THC to 20-year-old Kaiden Bemowski, who intended to rob them.
When Bemowski's accomplice grabbed the cartridges and ran, Appleyard's son took off after her. Bemowski is then accused of firing several rounds from a handgun, striking him once.
Bemowski faces attempted first-degree homicide, battery, and armed robbery with use of force charges. He returns to court in January.
