WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -- Northcentral Technical College is donating more than $5,000 in personal protective equipment to area first responders to help in the fight against COVID-19.

The equipment comes from NTC's School of Health Sciences and includes gowns, masks, and gloves. Much of the equipment would be used to train students in various medical fields such as dentistry, nursing, EMS, and radiography.

“We need to do everything we can to assist our community in this time of need. Part of that responsibility is ensuring our frontline healthcare and public safety workers have the appropriate PPE to protect themselves and those in their care,” said Marlene Roberts, Dean, NTC School of Health Sciences. “We have donated all the PPE we can to help our clinical partners and we will continue to find ways to support our community.”

Friday's announcement comes one week after NTC announced they would extend WiFi capabilities in the parking lots of their campuses to allow residents access to high-speed internet from their vehicles.
