STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) -- A man accused of berating Hmong shoppers now has a warrant out for his arrest.

Robert Shrote, 57, was scheduled for an initial appearance in Portage County Circut Court on Monday afternoon. Shrote did not show for the appearance despite a notice of the hearing being sent out on June 23rd.

A warrant was issued at the initial appearance for Shrota's arrest with a $150 cash alternative. The court also found probable cause to issue the criminal warrant.

Shrote is facing a charge of disorderly conduct after an incident at the Save A Lot in Stevens Point. He used an expletive towards two Hmong shoppers and said Chinese are poisoning people with Coronavirus.
