MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU-WRN) -- The Chief of Police in Wisconsin's biggest city faces a possible firing Monday evening.
Multiple reports out of Milwaukee indicate Alfonso Morales is the subject of a closed-session Police and Fire Commission meeting this evening to "Vote and issue directives" for the Chief.
Some on the Milwaukee City Council have been critical of the way Morales has handled recent protests. Though some high-ranking officials within the department say they will consider retiring if Morales is let go.
The Chief is a Milwaukee native who has spent 25 years with the Police Department. He says he plans on doing his job until he's told not to. But, some Commissioners say a change is in line.
The city's Police Association did take out ads in the Milwaukee paper over the weekend in support of Morales and will hold a press conference to back the chief ahead of tonight's meeting.
