Scary Terry Farewell

See ya later, great teammate, great leader and great friend.

I have worked for Midwest Communications for a long time. I have seen many people come and go in my time here. I have bid farewell to many friends along the way, most of whom I still talk to on occasion and some often. Terry is one of those who, regardless of how often we talk, will remain a friend.

Terry and I started in the same year and though we always got along and always respected each other's work and work ethic, but we were never as close as we became when we were the team that ran Rock 94.7.

I had always wanted to work on Rock 94.7 from the day they flipped the station on, but I didn't get the opportunity until Lunchbox took a new job and it opened up a place for me. I was so excited because though I have a very eclectic taste in music rock is the music that always, in Marie Kondo terms, "sparked joy."

Terry is an amazing creative and in the time we worked together he inspired my own creativity. We took risks and we saw the benefits of taking those risks. We had fun. We played games we wanted to play and we loved every minute of it. We were a true team.

I often stood back and watched Terry in awe at the passion he had for the radio station, the music, the audience, the bands and the adoration he commanded from everyone around him without even knowing it.

We have done so much together to build Rock 94.7 into the powerhouse it is today and that's thanks to your support as listeners and consumers of all that Rock 94.7 has to offer. Terry has poured his heart and soul and all of his energy into this station and I appreciate being a part of that.

His passion for this community makes him one of the most loved personalities in Central Wisconsin and rightly so. We often wonder if people truly are at heart what you see face to face and Terry is 100% genuine. He is that person you love through and through. He is authentic and those types of people are hard to come by.

Terry has been a confidant and a cheerleader for me and I cannot express how much I appreciate that. He has helped me become a better Brand Manager and a better air talent. I have learned a lot from him and I will miss seeing him everyday. I certainly hope he doesn't think that leaving Wausau is going to keep me from bugging him because I imagine that whenever I'm stuck on how to execute an idea I will call him to work it out like I would have done if he were still in the office down the hall.

Besides work I will miss hanging out with him at events, festivals and as part of our Radio Players team. We always have deep conversations and plenty of laughs.

As much as I am going to miss you I am so proud of you. You've worked so hard and I know you're going to be amazing at your new job. They're so lucky to have you. You'll always be welcome back here if you decide you don't like Michigan.

You're a class act Terry, and you really know your stuff. Go show 'em what's up and make them better just like you made all of us better.

See you later friend.
