WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- Officials are looking for your help in solving a suspicious Monday morning fire at the former Sav-O Supply building in Wausau.

Crews were called out around 2 am Monday morning after a resident at the nearby Trolley Quarter Flats apartments smelled smoke. When crews arrived, they found a small fire on the back of the building. The fire was contained to the outside of the structure, and crews say there was no damage to the inside of the building.

Wausau fire battalion chief Jeremy Copp says it was lucky that the fire wasn't worse. "There's a lot of wood in it. There's wooden floors, wooden doors, things like that. But for the most part there's not a lot of combustibles left in the building, but there's still enough to make a pretty good fire."

City fire inspector Dave DeSantis says they are investigating the fire as an arson because there's no power or gas running into the building at this time that could have sparked the fire. Copp says they don't really have any leads at this point other than the fact that it was arson. "We're looking for any information we can get from anybody. We don't have a lot to go on as far as why anybody would do it or who would have done it."

More information will be released once the investigation is complete. No one was injured.

If you have any information, call Wausau police at 715-261-7800.
