WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) -- The First Presbyterian Church in Wausau held their annual Friends Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday.
In its 49th year, the dinner serves a traditional Thanksgiving dinner complete with turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and pie. Volunteers hoped to match last year's turnout of 600 meals at the church.
Co-coordinator Korrina Black explained to WAOW-TV some of the reasons people might come to the dinner. "Anybody can come, a lot of times its people in the community who are lonely, their family is not around, or if they don’t want to cook a meal or don’t have funds to cook a meal."
479 meals were also delivered to those in the community.
