Thousands gather to see Trump at CWA

MOSINEE, WI (WSAU) -- Thousands waited for more than three hours outside the Endeavor Hanger of the Central Wisconsin Airport to hear from President Donald Trump at a rally for Republican candidates with about a dozen days to go before election day.

Those attending the rally were excited to see their political hero. "I'm here to support his energy, I just want to see him and be like 'I love you Trump'" said Joleen Cook. She added that Trump's tax plan has been a win for her family, and she also likes how he's kept his campaign promises. "I really like that he's sticking to his word," she added.

Rodger Peterson and James Schmidt both praised the Commander-In-Chief's no-nonsense style. "He's the best President I've seen," said Schmidt. "He apologizes for nothing," added Peterson.

Those in attendance had a variety of things they wanted to hear from Trump including immigration, taxes, and the economy. All of those topics and then some were covered during the President's remarks. Hear more remarks from attendees with WSAU Wisconsin Morning News host Ben Armstrong in the video above.

The President started the rally by calling out whoever sent suspicious packages filled with explosives to several Democratic leaders as well as former President Barack Obama and former candidate Hillary Clinton. He also called for more decorum among rival politicians and for fairness amongst the media reporting on politics.

In the hours leading up to Trump's arrival local and state Republicans such as Leah Vukmir, Sean Duffy, and Scott Walker warmed the crowd up with speeches of their own. House Speaker Paul Ryan was also on hand. During the rally, both Vukmir and Walker ended up on stage with Trump.
