CAMERON, WI (WSAU) - Funeral services were held Saturday for the husband and wife who were killed during a home invasion earler this month. Their 13-year-old daughter remains missing and is presumed to have been abducted.

James and Denise Closs were shot in their home around 1am on October 15. Shots were fired into the front door and it was kicked in. There was a 911 call made from within the Closs’ home from Denise’s phone. It’s not known who made the call. Nothing was said to the dispatcher, but at struggle was heard in the background. Neighbors heard the gunfire.

Family and friends gathered for the funeral at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Cameron. Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said, “I can’t imagine what the family is going through on a day like today laying two to rest, and still one out there.” Fitzgerald said there is no known motive. It’s unclear if the family was targeted or if the violence was random.

Daughter Jayme Closs has not been seen since the shooting, although she is not considered a suspect. He’s the focus of a nationwide Amber Alert. There’s a $50,000 reward for information that leads to her whereabouts.
