90s at 9 'Baker Street' Remake As Good As The Original?

Foo Fighters did a pretty good job making their remake sound a lot like the original, but they did replace the iconic sax with guitars.

"Baker Street" was originally released in 1978 by singer/songwriter Gerry Rafferty. The song was a huge hit reaching #2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

It's about a man who dreams of owning a home and moving away from the neighborhood he's in, but he's a drunk and will not achieve those goals so he keeps drinking to forget about what he doesn't have.

"Baker Street" was such a popular song a lot of artists covered it including David Lee Roth, Waylon Jennings, The Foo Fighters and more.
The Foo Fighters version was included on the extended version of their The Colour   and the Shape album in 1997.
It was a good cover sticking close to the original, but they replaced the iconic sax for guitars. And they replace the word "booze" with "crack."
