WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) -- The 5th annual "A Very Joe.e Christmas – The Return of the Broken Toy Show" brought in thousands of toys for needy children in Marathon County and surrounding areas Wednesday night.

Local Musician Joe Ellis has been producing the holiday show for the last few years and calls it an event that is near and dear to his heart. “What we’re trying to do is give families hope and give them reassurance that there are people out there who are thinking of them and pulling for them,” Ellis said. “We’re hoping they see better days and that’s really what hits home for us. That’s what it’s all about.”

The event brings together local musicians to collaborate on Christmas and Holiday favorites. Admission to the show is $10 and a new, unwrapped toy to be donated. Before the show, the lobby of the Grand was filled with holiday-themed activities such as cookie decorating, craft tables, and more holiday music.

All toys collected will be donated to the Toys for Tots program.
