Bohman to serve life in prison for shooting incident

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) -- A Wisconsin Rapids man who shot the current husband of his ex-wife will serve life in prison for the murder.

Gary Bohman was sentenced Tuesday in Wood County court, according to online court records. He had previously pled no contest to one charge of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide.

The sentence does not include the possibility of parole.

Relatives of the victim were in court to give statements before the sentencing was handed down.

Surveillance video at the Higher Grounds coffeehouse and bakery showed Bohman shooting Christopher Race once then walking out with one of Race's children. He then went to a nearby restaurant and told one of the employees to call for help because something had happened.
