MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) -- Former Everest Metro Det. Sgt. Jason Weiland had his name added to the Greater Milwaukee Law Enforcement Memorial on Wednesday.
Governor Scott Walker spoke at a ceremony for the officers being added saying in part, "Today, we especially honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to their communities, including those we lost in the last year. Thank you to all those who have served and all who are serving in our communities."
Det. Weiland was just 40-year-old when he was shot and killed during the shooting rampage throughout the greater Wausau area on March 22nd, 2017. He had been in law enforcement for 18 years and served on the Everest Metro Police Department for 15 years.
