UNDATED (Wisconsin Radio Network) - Wisconsin voters head to the polls on Tuesday. At the top of the statewide ballot, the election for governor, pitting Republican incumbent Scott Walker against Democrat Tony Evers in a race which last week’s Marquette Law School poll showed as extremely close.

Their running mates are Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch and former state Assembly member Mandela Barnes.

GOP Attorney General Brad Schimel faces Democrat Josh Kaul. And U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin is seeking a second term. She’s opposed by Republican state Senator, Leah Vukmir.

Many school districts have funding referenda on the ballot. Some are asking the voters to approve building or capital improvement projects. Other school districts are asking residents to approve additional operating funds above state-mandated spending caps.

16 counties and two municipalities have non-binding questions about marijuana on the ballot. Most ask about legalizing marijuana for medical use. A handful ask about recreational use of pot.

Many votes in these midterm elections have already been cast, with record-breaking early voting reported in many Wisconsin communities. Polls open at 7am and close at 8pm. If there's a line at closing time at your polling station, you'll be allowed to cast a ballot if you are in line at closing time.
