One Injured in Wood County Crash

VILLAGE OF BABCOCK, WI (WSAU) -- A two-vehicle crash in Wood County Tuesday morning has left one driver injured.

Wood County Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at 7 am on Tuesday morning on State Highway 80 in the Village of Babcock. The crash was caused by a southbound vehicle that was unable to make a curve and struck a semitrailer truck headed northbound.

The semi truck driver had no injuries and was the only occupant in the truck. The vehicle driver was trapped in his vehicle and had to be extracted by the Pittsville and Remington Fire Departments. He was then airlifted to Marshfield Medical Center for his injuries.

Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
