Next year marks the 20th anniversary of Dream Theater 's 1999 opus, Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory , and to celebrate, the prog-metallers will be playing the album in full during their 2019 tour.

Guitarist John Petrucci confirms to  Rolling Stone that the tour will include a full Metropolis Pt. 2 set, as well as selections from the rest of Dream Theater's career and songs from their upcoming new album, Distance Over Time , due out February 22.

"The tour is going to be 'An Evening With,' and part of the evening will be playing some of the new record and some older songs in our catalog, and then also playing Scenes from a Memory in its entirety," Petrucci explains. "So [it's] going to be a lot of fun."

Petrucci adds that Metropolis Pt. 2 is a "really important record" for the band, as it was their "first concept record." While one might think that every Dream Theater album is a concept album, Petrucci says that Metropolis Pt. 2 was "a conscious decision to do something bold and new and different."

Dream Theater's 2019 tour kicks off March 20 in San Diego.
