STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) -- Five separate crashes snarled up traffic on I-39 in Portage County Friday night.
The Stevens Point Fire Department responded to a crash in the northbound lane of highway HH when four other accidents happened in the southbound lanes. The first crash had four cars involved, including a car that had rolled over. Four were taken to the hospital with one in serious condition.
The other four crashes involved 8 other cars with two people being transported to the hospital.
All lanes are now open on I-39 after cleanup for the crashes took over an hour.
