Missing hunter found

TOWN OF MENTOR, WI (WSAU-WAOW) -- A hunter was reported missing during the opening weekend of gun-deer hunt, and was then later found.

In a press release issued by Clark County Sheriff Gregory Herrick, his office received a call saying a 22-year-old Marshfield man had not returned to his hunting party after hunting hours.

A helicopter was dispatched to the scene, and officials were able to find the missing hunter. The unidentified hunter was re-united with family around 8:55pm.

Clark County Sheriff’s Deputies, Wardens from the Wisconsin DNR along with Alma-Center Fire, Life Link 3 Helicopter and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Search and Rescue assisted in the recovery.
