This week's debate about the pronunciation of  Blink-182 's name continues to rage on, as a former band member is now weighing in.

On Sunday, the first shot was fired when writer and comedian  Ian Karmel  tweeted , "The British call Blink-182 'Blink One Eight Two' and I'm not saying that’s WHY they lost the Revolutionary War, but..."

The Late Late Show  host  James Corden  then  responded  by admitting that his home country has indeed been pronouncing Blink's name incorrectly, but added that the American pronunciation, "Blink One Eighty-Two," is "also wrong" and the band "technically should be called Blink one hundred and eighty two."

Blink singer and  Mark Hoppus  jumped into the mix and gave his blessing to all pronunciations, but now ex-Blinker  Tom DeLonge  -- who left the band in 2015 -- is  giving his opinion .

"It’s actually— Blink eighteen-two. People have all gotten this wrong for years," he wrote.

While that might be interpreted as a jab at his previous bandmates, DeLonge's second line -- "Sometimes this can happen with very complex, thoughtful and elevated art" -- makes it clear he was joking.

Blink-182 recently wrapped their Las Vegas residency. Their next scheduled show is a headlining set at Cincinatti's Bunbury festival in June.

Tom DeLonge's apparel company,  ToTheStars , just posted a holiday sale.
