Rage Against the Machine bassist Tim Commerford and his wife Aleece Dimas are getting divorced after 17 years of marriage.
"This decision was made after much careful thought and consideration," Commerford says in a statement. "I want to send my deepest appreciation to my family and friends who have supported us through these changes."
The couple wed in 2001, and have two teenage sons, Xavier and Quentin .
"We remain committed and loving parents to our two boys," Commerford says. "Our family asks in advance for your kindness and sensitivity at this difficult time."
Commerford currently plays in Prophets of Rage , which also features Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello and Brad Wilk .
