Apartment Complex Evacuated Due to Fire

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU-WAOW) -- The Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department responded to a fire at the Oakfield Apartments, around 8 a.m. on Saturday.

WRFD Captain Jason Joling told WAOW-TV they were called to the apartments at the 1000 block of 28th Street North at 8:01 a.m.

The fire was contained to one apartment where the resident wasn't home, but all 24 units were evacuated. No injuries were reported. and residents in the other 23 units were allowed back inside their apartments.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
