90s at 9 'Jesus Is My Aeroplane'

Red Hot Chili Peppers say their music takes them to a higher place.

"Aeroplane" was the third single released from the Red Hot Chili Peppers One Hot Minute album. It reached #8 on the Alternative Songs chart, #12 on the Mainstream Rock chart and #30 on the Mainstream Top 40.
The song is based on a blues song called "Jesus Is My Aeroplane." Red Hot Chili Peppers explained on their Greatest Hits DVD that they feel like their music takes them to a higher place.
The lyrics have some references to drugs. Lead singer Anthony Kiedis would often do drugs in his kitchen, so the line, "Sitting in my kitchen, I'm turning into dust again" is most likely a reference to his relapse.
The kids singing are actually the kids from Flea's daughter Clara's kindergarten class.
