Y2Kessler: She Doesn't Sound That Bad!

We've all had our series of bad relationships, but you know it's bad when you've gotta write a song about it! Theory of a Deadman is yet another mainstream rock group to come to us from Canada! They released the song Bad Girlfriend in 2008, and it was about how the lead singer, Tyler Connolly, met his now ex-wife in a bar in Vancouver.

A couple of funny things about this song. First off, it's not entirely on brand for Theory of a Deadman as far as theme goes. There other previous albums were a little more on the serious side, and this song seemed to have more levity to it which was not typical for the bands image. The label originally hated the song and didn't want them to put it on the new album at all! The jokes on them, because it would go on to become one of their biggest hits, reaching number 1 on the Billboard top 100 charts!

The other funny fact. Tyler's ex wife wasn't just the inspiration for the song, she actually had a slight hand in writing it too! She helped with the lyric composition, including the opening line "My girlfriend's a d*ck magnet". I guess it's safe to say that she knows the song is about her! Judging by the lyrics, I'd say she's probably pretty damned proud too!
