90s at 9 Redneck Pimp 'Wasting Time'

Kid Rock was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2000 even though he'd been in the music industry for more than 10 years and Devil Without a Cause was his 4th studio album.

"Wasting Time" was the 6th release off Kid Rock's Devil Without a Cause album which was released in 1998. The song was actually not released until January of 2000.

Devil Without a Cause is the fourth studio album by Kid Rock which is described as rap metal, hard rock, nu metal and rap rock. Sounds like a hodgepodge, but it worked for him because it had major commercial success and helped him solidify his "Redneck Pimp" stage persona, which he makes mention of in the song "Wasting Time."

The album sold 14 million copies and was certified platinum 11 times. He also got nominated for a Grammy for Best New Artist in 2000 even though he had been in the business for over a decade.

The song "Wasting Time" contains a bit of Fleetwood Mac's "Second Hand News" and references Fleetwood Mac in the line in the line "And rollin a Fleetwood that's how I mack."
