Daycare Provider Charged with Child Abuse Turns Self In

WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -- A daycare provider in Wausau who is charged with two counts of child abuse has turned herself in.

Merisa Sell, age 28, appeared in court Thursday after turning herself in at the Marathon County Courthouse. During her initial appearance Sell the judge ordered a $100,000 signature bond.

The bond included stipulations that Sell is not allowed to have any contact with the victims or their immediate families except through their attorneys. She also is barred from running a daycare or being employed for a job that involves the care of children. Sell is also not allowed contact with any children under the age of 18 unless they are her own.

Sell is charged with two counts of child abuse for two separate incidents of children being injured under her care.

Sell has been released after paying the first $10,000 in cash. She will be in court again on November 26th for her preliminary hearing.
