VILLAGE OF PORT EDWARDS, WI (WSAU-WAOW) -- Village leaders in Port Edwards tell WAOW TV they have accepted the resignation of Police Chief Jennifer Iverson.

In a prepared statement the village said: "The Port Edwards Police and Fire Commission looks forward to the recruiting and hiring of a Police Chief who will serve the community with integrity and professionalism."

Iverson's tenure in Port Edwards was marked with controversy, including the hiring of an officer who had previously been accused of injuring a woman in her jail cell.
