VILLAGE OF BLACK EARTH, WI (WSAU) -- A Wisconsin man is accused of attempting to purchase a radioactive substance with the intent of killing an unnamed individual.
Jeremy Ryan, age 30, was arrested in the Dane County Village of Black Earth on Wednesday and charged with attempted possession of radioactive material with intent to cause death.
Court documents say Ryan attempted to purchase the unidentified radioactive substance through the Internet in March and October of this year.
FBI agents from both Chicago and Milwaukee raided Ryan's home on Wednesday.
This summer Ryan attempted to run for Wisconsin's First Congressional District seat which will be vacated by Paul Ryan. He described himself as a regular guy who drinks, smokes weed, and uses curse words.
