GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) -- Shopko has announced they will be closing more store locations in Wisconsin.
The Green Bay Press-Gazette is reporting that Shopko is beginning store closing sales at 6 Wisconsin stores expected to close by early April. Shopko spokeswoman Michelle Hansen confirmed on Thursday to the Press-Gazette that stores in Appleton, Grafton, La Crosse, Menasha, Seymore, and Sussex will begin liquidation sales.
The Appleton Shopko will be closed on February 15th. The five other stores will be closed by April 7th. These six stores are added to the previously announced 39 stores Shopko plans to close by the end of February. Of the stores closing in February, the only Wisconsin location is in Mauston.
This announcement comes shortly after a major pharmacy supplier for the chain said that Shopko owes them $67 million on Monday.
