GREEN BAY, Wi (WSAU) Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur said on Friday the team would retain defensive coordinator Mike Pettine.
LaFleur said in an interview that he had sat down with Pettine and discussed a common vision for the Packer defense going forward.
But, one of the longest tenured coaches on the Packer staff will not be back. Joe Whitt Jr was fired on Friday. Whitt had been the Packers defensive pass game coordinator under Mike McCarthy.
The Packers also continue to interview various assistants from other teams for open jobs like offensive coordinator and specials teams coach.
